Speaking to the Daily Mail, Oliver said his fellow British celebrity chef was always quick to criticise him.

"Gordon will do anything to try and take the p--- out of me because he is deeply jealous and can't quite work out why I do what I do and why he can't do that," he said.

"He is too busy shouting and screaming and making our industry look like a bunch of shouters and screamers."

Oliver made the comments about his fellow chef in response to a jibe by Ramsay about Oliver's absence at the launch of the Hong Kong branch of his restaurant chain, Jamie's Italian.

"If you're going to open a restaurant in Hong Kong, at least turn up," Ramsay told CNBC at the launch of the Hong Kong branch of his Bread Street Kitchen chain last year.

Ramsay wasn't the only celebrity chef who was dealt a serve by Oliver.

The Naked Chef also gave his two cents' worth on My Kitchen Rules judge and paleo advocate Pete Evans, whose controversial baby food book, Bubba Yum Yum: The Paleo Way, was pulled this month after health experts suggested the book's recipes could be potentially fatal to children.

"There's a lot of bullshit around at the moment," Oliver told the Daily Mail.

"I see world experts every two weeks for three hours on different specialisms . . . the reality is, these very specific diets are quite unsustainable.

"Everything in moderation and what you like. Can you have a burger every once and a while? Yeah. Can you have a beer? Yeah."

Oliver, 39, is in Sydney for his Food Revolution LIVE event, which was held at the Opera House on Sunday.

The celebrity chef, who has 15 cookbooks to his name, is petitioning the governments of G20 countries to introduce food education programs in their nations' schools.

"I urgently need your help to make a real difference. We're currently facing a global obesity epidemic, with 42 million children under the age of five either overweight or obese across the world. The bottom line is the next generation will live shorter lives than their parents if nothing is done to rectify these alarming stats," Oliver's petition reads.

The petition has received 69,000 signatures.
