The afternoon has become an annual event for many Canberrans and an increasing number of people from interstate.
Visitors travelled to the property, located near Wallaroo, and enjoyed the delights of freshly picked orchard fruit and had a good time in the afternoon in a relaxed setting.
Visitors had the chance to:
- Select from the varieties of international and Australian apples and pears;
- Buy organic produce from local producer stalls: farm vegetables, dried fruit, toffee apples and honey;
- Watch the pressing of fresh apple juice on the wooden apple press - C19th styled machine;
- Enjoy a range of organic foods - crepes served with Loriendale apple sauce and Devonshire teas served with delicious scones, muffins or cakes;
- Stroll through the orchard, complete with free range bantam hens foraging among the trees;
There was relaxing background music provided by local musicians and choirs.
