On Wednesday, the universal day for hoaxes, Sydney Bridge climbers were surprised by an Alice in Wonderland character, The White Rabbit, who invited them to an imaginary tea party with another Alice in Wonderland icon, the Mad Hatter when they got to the top of Sydney's famous landmark.
Two BridgeClimb guides donned costumes as the personalities in the children's classic and entertained climbers of two groups with their impersonations.
Bridgeclimb also nominated one climber in each group to be "Alice", the protagonist of the story, to have tea with the Mad Hatter.
"I never knew invisible tea could be so fun," honorary Alice, and climber, Mel Harling, from the UK said.
Imaginary tea was served, for safety reasons, but each group received chocolates while enjoying views of Sydney Harbour, 134 metres above it.
This is BridgeClimb's second April Fools' Day hoax. Last year, it surprised its climbers with a flash mob - a group of guides dancing on top of the bridge.
