Followed on by the success of the A Reserve pennant squad in their division of the ACT Monaro DGA 2015 competition, the Senior Master Handicap and B Scratch sides were not to be out done also coming home with flags. It was the Senior Master side that on the Thursday faced Braidwood in the final at Gold Creek. The side of Phil White, Tim Kelly, Wilbur Whyte, Buck Harmer – Manager, Steve Scroope, John Heggart, Rod Bullman and Bill Mackay that had a resounding 5.5 to 1.5 win to take it to, two pennants down. It was then up to the B Scratch side to finish the trifecta on Sunday at Federal Golf Club. In what was another excellent result the side beat Belconnen 4.5 to 2.5. The side consisted of Callan Kemp, Mark Barrie, Graham Fleming, Peter Timmer, John Goldsworthy – Manager, Ed Stanford, Wayne Wilson and Mick Bell. All returned home to celebrate what possibly has been the most successful pennant season in Yass Golf Club’s history. Congratulations to all the golfers who participated in this season pennants competitions, with 3 Pennant Flags coming home to Yass from the five sides entered.

In last Saturday’s On Trend Clothing Guzzlers Mug, Lachlan Kemp took out the A-grade and the the honour of being April’s Guzzler with a 63 nett on a countback from Dom Carmody. The B-grade went to Alex Walker with his 67 and the C-grade was taken out by Gerard Kerin with his 64 nett.

Winner: Peter Bray (14) 41 points. Ball winners: P Brady, R Julian 41, G Fleming, N Henderson, S Leahy 38, R Greig 37 and L Eikenhout 36 points. Nearest the pin on the 16th went to Ed Stanford.

(Dad’s Army competition for April 9)
Only eight players fronted for the Dad’s Army competition, which was to be expected with many going to Jan Bluett's funeral. Everyone passes on their heartfelt sympathy to Ian and family. John ‘Old Man’ Rivers was the winner with 18 points and Ken Reidy, with 16 points, picked up the only ball on offer. Scoring ranged from 18 down to 12 points. Until next week good golfing ‘boys’.
