This Sunday is the first of the Championships for 2015, with the 27 hole Foursomes Championships being held, the event being sponsored by Gregory and McCarthy Accountants. Last year’s champions Lachlan and Callan Kemp will surely be there to defend their title. Dad’s Army Competition for April 16
The warmer morning saw a huge crowd of seventeen players take to the field in the Dad's Army Competition last week and it was Peter "Mr. Consistent" Anderson, who hasn't been as consistent of late, that won the big money with his 19 points. Geoff Cubit 18, Rick Jackson 17, and the two players with 16 points, Doug Oldfield and Kevin Mann collected the four balls that were on offer. Scoring ranged from 19 down to 10 points.
In the Dad's Army Championships the committee has decided to extend the qualifying rounds to five to give the late starters a chance to post the best three rounds. Last year’s winner Peter Anderson is leading followed by John Rivers and Doug Oldfield together and the fourth player at this stage is Graham Howlett.
Until next week good golfing 'boys'.
