The investigation is understood to be related to a shooting incident in Greenfields which happened in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Police said a shot was fired from a vehicle on Lakes Road before the victim - who was uninjured - sought shelter in a nearby service station.

Police were called and the matter was passed on to detectives when the alleged shooter fled the area.

At this stage police are believed to have taken at least one person into custody.

Investigations are continuing.
