The Yass Soldiers Club has been a keen and generous supporter of this event since 2011, contributing to the cost of the very popular band 'The Hips' which entertains the large crowds in Banjo Paterson Park on Saturday and again in the evening in the Yass Soldiers Club auditorium for the charity dance.
These contributions over five years are very much appreciated by the Classic Yass event organisers and have been crucial for the event to maintain its high standard. The event continues to attract more visitors and participants from car clubs, billy cart enthusiasts, historic machinery enthusiasts, vintage fashion enthusiasts, arts and craft enthusiasts, etc from around the state and across the borders.
‘Classic Yass’ began as the ‘Celebration of Heritage Motoring’ in 2006 with the Yass Antique Motor Club as the primary organiser but still involving many local groups to bring the weekend together. 2015 will be the 10th time the event has been staged in Banjo Paterson Park. The club has seen the wonderful event continue to attract more and more visitors, participants, sponsors and groups. More than any other year, 2015 has already attracted booking for accommodation, enquiries for invitations and entries have started to arrive even though we do not officially accept them until early August. More car clubs have the event firmly booked into their calendars and are spreading the word that this is one of the top events in the state, if not the country.
The Classic Yass Committee thank the Yass Soldiers Club for sponsoring Classic Yass in 2015. We are very grateful for the continued support, the $1000 sponsorship and venue use for 2015. On behalf of the Classic Yass Committee and the community, I would like to thank the Yass Soldiers Club for their very valued support over the past years and into the future.
Classic Yass 2015 Motorshow, Billy Cart Derby and Markets will be held on Saturday November 7 in Banjo Paterson Park, with the Antique Machinery Club Demonstrations and Displays on Sunday November 8 at ‘Cliftonwood’. Yass Historic Museum and Yass Railway Museum will be open to the public on both days.
