Choices Day is a one-stop shop for people to find out what’s on offer in Semester 2, 2015, seek career advice from expert staff, gain assistance with the application process and access helpful information on how to study now, pay later with VET FEE-HELP student loans.
TAFE Illawarra’s Manager of District Operations – Highlands, David Guthrey said: “Choices Day can help people find out about the range of better futures TAFE Illawarra Yass can open up through its nationally-accredited, internationally recognised qualifications from certificate through to degree level.
“The community can explore their options in everything from Wool Clip Preparation, Wool Classing, and Horticulture to Business Administration, Bookkeeping and a selection of other Business Skill Sets such as MYOB, Medical Reception, BAS Agent registration, Using Computers in an Office Environment and Advanced Software.
“Yass campus is also offering a selection of welding skill sets and Provide First Aid, as well as Certificate II in Skills for Work and Training.
“TAFE Illawarra Yass offers a range of study options to suit your lifestyle. You learn on the job, on campus or online to get the skills you need for the job you want.”
As of January this year, all new and continuing students need a Unique Student Identifier (USI) to apply or enrol in any nationally registered course.
“We encourage our future students to bring their USI along to Choices Day. It’s free and easy to create a USI on the Australian Government Department of Industry website – www.usi.gov.au. We will also have staff available to help create their USI for those seeking assistance,” said Mr Guthrey.
"We offer students strong links to industry, state-of-the-art training facilities, flexible training solutions and expert and supportive teachers.”
