To recognise this event the children and educators planted native shrubs and grasses in the garden situated at the front gate of the pre-school.
Lori Gould, Senior Project Manager, Greening Australia Capital Region came to the Pre-School and spoke to the children about why it is good for the environment to plant native trees, shrubs and grasses.
The children took it in turns to go outside and plant the native shrubs and grasses that Lori had brought with her. The children were instructed in how to plant the plants taking great care to dig the hole just deep enough. Lori demonstrated how to get the plants out of the stock tubes and gently place the plants into the hole.
Just after the planting was completed, it began to rain which has given the newly planted shrubs and grasses a great start.
