They played a stroke round, monthly medal sponsored by First National Real Estate, 6th WG Medal and a qualifying round for the Matchplay Championships sponsored by Impressions Restaurant.
We had 14 players and the best score on the day went to Trudy Payne, with 71 nett. Runner-up to Trudy was Sue Morgan who carded a 76 nett. The putting was won by Trudy, with 24 putts.
Ball competition winners were Jenny Dobbin, Liz Darmody and Shirley Williamson.
Our team of Marion Darmody and Janet Bamford travelled to Queanbeyan to compete in the 4 Ball Best Ball district final. They did our club proud and will now play in the state final in November. Well done ladies!
Also on the weekend, five of our golfers travelled to Gold Creek to play in their open day. Jenny Dobbin and Julie Walker were successful in their divisions, with Judy receiving the runner-up trophy and Julie coming in third.
The qualifiers for the Matchplay Championships are Trudy Payne, Sue Morgan, Maureen Bray, Marion Darmody, Shirley Williamson, Jenny Dobbin, Liz Darmody and Janet Bamford.
Format for the matchplay is; Trudy Payne vs Janet Bamford, Sue Morgan vs Liz Darmody, Maureen Bray vs Jenny Dobbin and Marion Darmody vs Shirley Williamson. The first matches are to be completed by September 9.
Players are reminded that our open day is on Wednesday September 9. There is a sheet on the board for entries and prizes are needed for our raffle table.
Today we play a 4BBB Event and next week we have a stroke round and monthly medal.
