Sixteen braziers were up for grabs and all were auctioned off. Organisers were astounded with the response, their expectation of raising $2000 was shattered as the final count recorded just over $5000 from the evening.
Organiser Al Phemister said the highest bid was for the tree Brazier which went for $520.
“The wine bottle brazier went for $470 and was taken off to be displayed somewhere in the Barossa Valley,” he said.
“The pizza oven sold for $550.
“I think the idea of braziers just really struck a chord with people.”
Organisers of the event expressed huge gratitude for all the community support they received. A big thanks went out to Stu Williams who MC’d the evening and Col Medway who was the auctioneer.
“I have been to things years ago where both Stu and Col are involved and it is just brilliant and funny how they bounce off one another,” Mr Phemister continued.
“Stu gets really excited.
“Big thanks to Sculpture in the Paddock organisers who put it on and also to YASSarts who really helped before and throughout the evening."
