Yass Business Chamber President Michael Pilbrow is excited about what the friendship could mean in the future, following another successful monthly breakfast on Friday.
Vice-president of the Goulburn chamber, Joanne McCauley, attended the breakfast and spoke with the local members about her group’s plans for the future.
“She was extremely enthusiastic about what they’ve been doing in Goulburn,” Mr Pilbrow said.
“They have a very active program over in Goulburn, it’s a bigger town and they offer training and other opportunities so it was good for us to learn from her.”
He said there were a number of activities that Ms McCauley encouraged the Yass group to think about implementing.
“We were encouraged ... to think about holding an Awards Dinner in Yass in the future.
“If we do, the Goulburn Chamber of Commerce has offered their advice and, most importantly, for us to benefit from the lessons they learned from their recent successful Awards ceremony”.
The monthly breakfasts have been a great success, with people from a range of businesses around town attending at Kaffeine.
“At the moment it’s just about expanding our horizons and our circles,” Mr Pilbrow said.
“Now that we’ve connected with Goulburn we’ll be looking at making contact with chambers in Boorowa, Queanbeyan and Harden.
“The breakfasts have also been a great way to generate camaraderie between members.”
