The Comur Street property, built in 1837, is arguably the oldest house in town and will go up for auction on October 31.
Sales Consultant at Peter Blackshaw, Chris Churchill, said the eventual buyer will have their own slice of history.
"It's hard to believe that it is 178 years (old) ... it's also older than Cooma Cottage up the road so it has a whole lot of history," he told the Tribune earlier this week.
"It was placed at that location because that was right in front of what would have been a goat track basically, from Sydney to Melbourne back then."
Over the years the Inn has been extended out the back and has four bedrooms, a large loungeroom, sitting room, family room, dining room, study, library, large kitchen, bathroom, two renovated ensuites and out the back their is a stone building that used to act as the original kitchen for the inn.
"It basically operated as an Inn from 1837 to 1890 ... and then it became an actual house."
Mr Churchill said it is one of the most impressive properties he's had the pleasure of selling.
"Well it's not just a piece of land, it's an acre, it's over 4000 square metres and being right on the main street it's what I would think is one of the best blocks of land in Yass."
He said it would suit large extended families, history buffs and possibly anyone looking to establish a bed and breakfast.
The owners, who have lived at The Rose Inn for seven years, are relocating to Queensland.
Mr Churchill claimed it's really hard to value the property, because there is little to compare it to.
"I'd like to think it would go somewhere upward of $900,000. I mean the people bought it for 850,000 eight years ago so it should be worth more than that."
The first of a number of open houses is on tomorrow from 10.30am to 12pm.
