Another cloudy and sometimes windy weekend but, unfortunately no rain to report except for a few millimetres in a very noisy storm on Friday night. A blackout threatened but luckily only lasted a few seconds, just long enough to mess up all the electric clocks in the house.

Congratulations to Ben Spencer and Ali Giles who were married at the property 'Kuriong' on Saturday afternoon. The weather was kind to them. I should soon be able to access some more information on the wedding and on the members of the Giles family who travelled from England for the ceremony.
There were too many functions on during the weekend for golfers to show much interest and as far as I know there was no competition to report on. On Saturday next weekend a medley nine holes has been programmed and on Sunday the ladies will play a stableford for a trophy donated by Mavis Armour(a former golfer and whose late husband Ken, also a golfer, was the very popular and very generous patron for many years) while the men will also play a stableford round for the trophy donated by John Flanery. The programme has just a few weeks to go and then hopefully, more people will turn up for the ever-popular chicken run.
Bowlers Pat and Ethel took themselves to Grenfell through the week for the ladies President's Day.
The football tipping competition end of season party was held at the hotel on Sunday afternoon. Leon Arabin was the successful tipster, with Brian Q in second spot.
Another old friend lost with the death of former resident Joan Miskelly in the Nowra hospital last Tuesday at the wonderful age of 97 years. Joan always said she did not want to live until she was 90 but she did so and managed another seven years. Her passing was peaceful after a short illness. Joan and her late husband Kevin lived in Binalong for several years until moving to Milton. Vale old friend.
Bill Arabin also lost another relative last week and he travelled to Nowra to pay his respects at the funeral.
In the first school bulletin for this term, principal Mr Bennett welcomed the children back and stressed the importance of appropriate hats.
He also mentioned what a great job Mr Chown had done in maintaining the grounds and the courtyard area. He also said that power and lighting, including spotlights, had been installed in the hall. The computer network has been causing some problems and will need a visit from Telstra to replace some of the equipment. The new library system 'OLIVER' is to be installed in the next couple of weeks.
Meanwhile the littlies are busy with their summer veggie patch and hope to have some to sell soon. The next grade is learning abouyt life before electricity in a book about Laura Ingalls Wilder's life.
Star winners were Emelia Martin, Thomas Duffy and Grace Winning.
Until next time.
