The event, which will also be a Pink Sports Day run to raise money for the Breast Cancer Network Australia, is all about encouraging new members to come on board, making locals aware of the facilities the club has and about local tennis in general.
There will be Tennis Hot Shotz demonstrations for children using modified equipment such as mini nets and low compression balls and the chance to talk to club coach Scott Eulenstein.
Eulenstein will also run a Cardio Tennis session from 5-6pm for those interested in a high intensity workout to music.
There will be a free barbecue from 5pm and the club will be running a number of other competitions with lots of giveaways on the day.
Hume Tennis Club president David Thornely said it was a great way to get people involved in the club and in the sport of tennis leading into the Australian Open.
"It’s a sport for all ages and abilities, you can play socially or in a competition and improve your fitness while having fun," Thornley said.
"We'd really love a good turnout because I think our club is a pretty special one and its important we get good support. The fact that it is a Pink Day also makes it all the more important."
Everyone is encouraged to wear something pink to support those affected by breast cancer on the day and along with donations, a raffle will run to help raise money.
The Open Day will go from 2pm to 7pm.
A reminder, too, that Scott Eulenstein is again running Tennis Camp over the school holiday period.
It will be on January 19, 20 and 21 and will include kids games, skill development and plenty of fun during the Australian Open. See next Wednesday's classified advertisement or email scott.eulenstein@outlook.com for more information.
