You could forgive former Australian netballer and current Sydney Swifts star Susan Pratley for falling in love with Yass. This time accompanied by her Swifts teammate Caitlyn Byrne, Pratley for the fourth time in as many years, was on hand at the Yass netball courts recently to put the local representative team through their paces.

Playing from March to July this year, Yass will field representative teams in all age groups including under 10's, 11's, 12's, 13's, 14's and 15's. They will compete at regional level against teams from Canberra, Queanbeyan, Young, Cowra, Wagga Wagga and Illawarra, with the hope of getting through to the state championships to play against teams from Tamworth, Penrith and Bathurst among others.
In more exciting news, the Yass Netball Association (YNA) will have all courts at Joe O'Connor Park entirely resurfaced by the Yass Valley Council. This will be a huge boost for the sport in Yass and the YNA president said it is not something the organisation is taking for granted.
Senior netball in Yass is played on Tuesday nights and the junior age competitions are held on Friday evenings throughout the winter months.
Vice president Dave Kemp said the association is always looking for new members.
"We are a small association with limited numbers and we will always welcome anyone who wants to come and give it a go," Mr Kemp said.
