Davis - who is in Australia to present a keynote address as an ambassador for the UNHCR - vented her frustrations on social media following her Sunrise appearance in which she was asked to reprise her role as her Sex and the City character Charlotte York in a bizarre skit.

She appeared tense and uneasy when hosts David Koch and Samantha Armytage showed a clip of Davis as Charlotte from the first Sex and the City movie in the throes of a bout of explosive diarrhoea.

"No, no, no, no take it off, no. No. You lured me here. We are not discussing that. Stop talking," she yelled.

The visibly uncomfortable UNHCR ambassador also took umbrage when asked about the ages of her Sex and the City co-stars.

"I know the answer as does everyone else. We're not going to discuss age. That's not nice. Stop it."

Following her only Australian breakfast television appearance Sunrise tweeted a behind-the-scenes photo of the Sex and the City send-up asking "What's going on here?"

"I could ask you the same thing," Davis replied with a diplomatic neutral face emoji.

Sunrise then deleted the offending tweet while she retweeted criticism of the segment.

But the biggest blow came in the form of a 'winky' emoji to Channel Seven's breakfast show rival.

In stark contrast to the neutral emoji directed at Sunrise, Davis sent the 'wink' emoji to Wilkinson after the Channel Nine personality tweeted the star.

"Congratulations @KristinDavis on your wonderful work with @UNrefugees Next time ur in Oz, love to have u on @TheTodayShow to talk about it." Wilkinson tweeted.

"Thank you! I Would love to join you next time ;)," Davis responded.

Davis had played along on live television with the Sunrise hosts when asked to re-enact a scene from the popular TV series.

"You guys have seriously lost your mind," she said as Armytage, taking on the role of Carrie, pulled on a blonde curly wig.

"Sarah Jessica [Parker, the original Carrie Bradshaw] is not going to be happy about this."

The duo were joined by fellow Sunrise stars Edwina Bartholomew, as a reluctant looking Samantha, and Natalie Barr in a red wig as Miranda.

The scene focused on Carrie being broken up with by Post-It note.

"This is a first ladies. I just want you to know I have never done this," she said.

When asked for her critical opinion by Barr she was constructive, at best.

"I don't know if that's a great idea frankly. No offence. You're very brave, you're very brave. I give you kudos for bravery."

"You're not the one sitting here looking like Tina Turner," Armytage snapped back.

Diehard Sex and the City fan Armytage promised she would not ambush the actor and activist again on Friday when she hosts the $200-a-head lunch being held in Sydney in Davis' honour.
