For families considering enrolling their child at Mt Carmel School or at a Catholic secondary school in Canberra, two parent information evenings will be held next Wednesday May 4.
The Secondary Pathways information evening commences at 6pm followed by a Kindergarten-2017 information evening at 7pm.
Both information sessions will be held in the Hartigan Centre (please enter via Dutton Street).
Families are invited to attend one or both information sessions.
Angus Tulley, Principal of St Francis Xavier College, Florey and Catherine Rey, Principal of John Paul College II, Nicholls, will facilitate a Secondary Pathways information evening for those families interested in secondary Catholic education in Canberra.
While the Mt Carmel School information evening targets Kindergarten enrolments for 2017, interested families with children in other year levels are also invited to attend as the evening provides an overview of school life at Mt Carmel.
If families would like to tour the school, contact should be made with Rebecca Grogan or Emma McEvoy on 6226 3357.
Tours will be conducted by members of the school leadership team or captains, Tallara Howard and Fraser Weller.
By visiting Mt Carmel School, families will be able to see the school in action where they can view:
· A quality Pastoral Care program where students are known.
· An academic program that is challenging, engaging and responding to individual needs.
· A welcoming, inclusive community with dedicated and committed teachers.
· A sense of security, belonging, value and opportunity.
Mt Carmel School Yass is a rural, co-educational, Catholic school for students from Kindergarten to Year 6.
“It is a school built on a 170 year tradition of delivering quality education,” school principal Gaye McManus said.
“We achieve excellent results in academic and sporting programs reflecting engaged students, great teaching and committed parents.
“We firmly believe that we are enrolling a family and not just a student.”
Mrs McManus said the students, teachers and parents are justifiably proud to belong to Mt Carmel School.
“Our whole school community looks forward to the opportunity to welcome as many visitors and guests as possible to our parent information evenings next week.
“The best way we know how to share what we do and showcase our facilities, technologies and programs is to open our doors and invite you in," Mrs McManus said.
The enrolment period concludes on May 20.
