Finally, a wonderfully wet Monday morning that followed a wonderfully wet Sunday. Steady rain fell most of the day and night and I believe somewhere in the vicinity of 35- 37mm were recorded yesterday with more still falling.

I can see the grass growing already and the garden in general should soon show great results. Things certainly were becoming quite desperate with nothing much left in the paddocks for stock to feed on. The area really was looking quite drought stricken.
I imagine the farmers will be out in force as soon as conditions allow. Even though it was a very wet Mother's Day, I think everyone would have been more than happy.
Congratulations to Marie Liddle on achieving the grand age of 90 through the week. Family and friends joined her for a birthday lunch at the Royal Tara, coming from near and far for the occasion. Marie's great interest in life has long been breeding and caring for Arab horses and she has continued to do so up to the age of 90 so we wish her well and hope she can do it for many more years.
Barbara Downey recently celebrated her 75th birthday with a gathering of family and friends at the Worker's Club in Goulburn. Several locals attended what was a lovely celebration with the function room beautifully decorated by her friends in Goulburn. Friends also made a huge cake for her and a smaller one for each of her granddaughters, Jessica and Maddison. A very enjoyable and happy occasion.
A car was apparently stolen last week from the garage at the rear of the old bank building. Bronwyn did not discover that the car was gone for some time. I have not heard any information concerning the theft but I would think the police are investigating.
Unfortunately, the recently opened ‘Cook and her Man’ cafe has closed. Sue thanked those who had supported the venture.
I have been told the Progressive Dinner on Saturday night organised by the preschool committee was very successful.
News is very scarce this week so…
Until next time.
