Police received information in relation to a white Hyundai driving erratically at 8.17am on Monday and located the vehicle on the Burley Griffin Way near Harden.
Highway Patrol commenced pursuit when the car failed to stop with speeds exceeding 145km/h. The pursuit entered Binalong but was called off due to the dangerous speeds. It was re-initiated outside of Bowning but soon called off again for the same reason. The white Hyundai was last seen driving on the Barton Highway towards the ACT and the Australian Federal Police were notified.
Drink driving
A 34-year-old woman from the ACT was charged with high-range drink driving at the weekend. The woman was driving along the Barton Highway at 3pm on Sunday when she returned a positive result to a roadside breath test. She later recorded a blood alcohol reading of 0.225 and was charged with high-range drink driving. She will now face Yass Local Court.
Car accident
There was a two vehicle accident at Murrumbateman on Wednesday May 11. A car driving along McIntosh Circuit at 2.50pm veered into another travelling in the opposite direction. The occupants received minor injuries and were treated at the scene by paramedics.
