Member for Goulburn Pru Goward announced funding for the Yass Bowling Club for the construction of a new shed with disabled toilet facilities, the Yass Pony Club for the purchase of international standard show jumps and accounting software and the Binalong Brahmans RLFC for coaching and first aid accreditation for trainers and coaches.
“The main aim of this program is to increase regular and on-going participation opportunities in sport and active recreation in NSW,” Ms Goward said.
“Sport is a huge part of our way of life in Yass and it really brings people in our community together.
“I am committed to delivering the best infrastructure to our region and I look forward to seeing the benefits of this upgrade for the community,” Ms Goward added.
Yass Bowling Club’s Chairman, Mr Barry Bush, was delighted the club will receive $9,144 from the State Government to put towards the upgrade of their facilities.
“The Yass Bowling Club is extremely happy to receive this grant from NSW Sport and Recreation,” Mr Bush said.
“The grant will be used to construct an outdoor toilet that is accessible to people with disabilities, as well as an outdoor BBQ area.
“Without the funding assistance and volunteer contributions from our members projects like this simply would not be possible for a small club like ours.
“I would like to thank Pru for supporting our application and for attending the club for the announcement of the grant.”
