Young riders and their families will travel from as far afield as Helensburgh and Coonabarabran to ride in the two-day festival over the June long weekend.
The event is the major fundraiser for the Murrumbateman Pony Club, with local businesses donating hundreds of dollars worth of prizes for a raffle to be drawn on the second day.
The festival will cater for every level of rider, with classes for tiny tots being led over a course of poles to A grade classes, in which horses and riders will jump obstacles 1.25 metres high and wide.
Events will include Equitation, Grand Prix, Accumulator and Six Bar, with a “funkhana” for younger riders on Saturday.
“Our show jumping festival has been going for more than 25 years,” event organiser Heather Coutts said.
“It is the biggest event we hold each year” and it is a fantastic way of involving the local community as well as attracting people from all over the state to Murrumbateman.
“Pony Club aims to encourage young people to ride and to enjoy all kinds of sports connected with horses and riding. Events like this are a great way to showcase the skills they have learned.”
