The Yass youngsters were firing on all cylinders, notching up 8 impressive wins, one loss and one draw.
The Under 13 Redbacks travelled to Dickson to take on Majura FC in blustery conditions. The Yass team looked very lethargic at the start but it was not long before they took control and totally dominated the match. Keegan Doyle was in superb touch scoring four great goals in the first half. Max Hansson was unbelievably impressive in the midfield and was unlucky not to score.
Brooklynn Bolton and Cal Morgan were creating opportunities from the middle of the park and Bryce Battye looked dangerous down the right wing.
It was unfortunate that Zach Enseileit injured himself again in his comeback match but the defence remained solid all day with Harrison Walker, Nick Hinds, Zoe Tritschler, Colby Owens and Callum Ironside not allowing Majura any opportunities. The Redbacks dominated the game and walked away with a commanding 8-0 win.
In other matches, the Under 12 Redbacks had a nail-biting draw with the Gungahlin Cyclones at home. Charles O’Brien is pictured in the thick of the action.
The Under 8s smashed Belsouth Anacondas 13-0, the Under 9s defeated Belwest Wallabies 3-2 and the Under 9s lost to Belsouth Avengers 1-6.
The Under 10 Redbacks trumped Brindabella Blues 6-1, the Under 11s walked away with a 8-0 win over the Majura Hammers and the Under 14s had a hard fought 6-5 win over the Belwest Foxes. The Under 18s defeated Canberra Grammar 4-0.
