Members of the community will have the opportunity to step foot inside the massive, multi-million project being built on Bellevale Road before it opens for business in August.
SELX proponent Colin Medway told the Tribune that visitors will be able to tour the facility and enjoy a barbeque and refreshments this Sunday, between 10am and 2pm.
The Yass Early Childhood Centre Association (YECCA) will be running the BBQ and all proceeds will go to the not-for-profit community preschool.
The open day will run from 10am - 2pm and entry will be a gold coin donation to Beyond Blue.
“It’s just an opportunity for the public to come and have a look through the facility,” Mr Medway said.
“A lot of people have driven past and would be curious. The day is aimed at everyone. “Farmers and people related to the agricultural industry will obviously have a strong vested interest but we recognise the wider community is interested too so we encourage everyone to come along and have a look.”
Construction of the saleyards is on track for completion mid-August.
The South Eastern Livestock Exchange is located on Bellevale Road, near Black Range Road and the Yass Service Centre.
