It was great to see all our local resources pull together in response to the terrible fires that occurred in Goulburn earlier this week. The response of all the emergency services ensured that the fire did not spread to a greater area of the Goulburn main street. It was still a terrible incident and I find it outrageous that someone would think of doing this disgusting act, having no consideration whatsoever to the damage caused not only to Centrelink but also to the St Vincent de Paul's charity store next door. In any case, the community including our police, firefighters, local council and government representatives all worked together the following morning to make sure that everything that could be done to address the damage caused by the fire was done as soon as possible. Community spirit in Goulburn is certainly alive and well. Great work from our local Police who arrested and charged the two who caused the fire. We will make sure we do all we can to ensure that they cannot hurt our community again!

Also another horrific incident earlier this week involving a couple of hoons dragging a dead kangaroo through Goulburn. Again I am gobsmacked to believe someone would think that dragging a dead kangaroo through town was a good idea?? Well with information from the community our local police were able to identify those involved and will put them before the Court in the near future. Further evidence that the community and police work very well together in our town.
Overnight two cars were broken into in Bowral and had items of property stolen. I use the words "broken into" lightly as the cars were left unlocked. Please people, lock your cars. I have already reminded everyone of the importance of locking your cars and making it harder for thieves to take your property previously, so please heed this advice! Make it harder for crooks to steal your property. Please be mindful and secure your property. Lock your cars!!
