With today being the last day for voting and residents around the Yass Valley begrudgingly making their way to the various polling booths, the Yass Tribune took to the Eden-Monaro candidates to find out more about their personal side.

While not all candidates were willing to divulge their intimate details, here’s what we found out:

A meet the candidates event in Nimmitabel where there were more candidate present than electors. Those present were great with valuable conversation (and it was snowing).

From my thermos, I’m more a chai tea kinda bloke.

A walk around the railway station museum in town off Crago St where I used to live.

If so, where is it being held? TBA. Maybe Central Cafe in Qbyn.
What is the first thing you will do after the election?
Catch up with my normal work, which is weeks behind schedule now.
Where could we find information on early exit poll results?
In the rubbish bins at the pre-polling stations.. count the discarded HTV cards :)

Muhammed Ali - He stood up for his rights and himself in front of millions of people for decades.

What has been your funniest moment on the campaign trail this year?
Hearing Liberal voters saying they will not be voting for Peter "invisible man" Hendy because he is failing to represent them at the table when Meet The Candidates events are being held. Second funniest was Julie Bishop running when i introduced myself to her and Peter Hendy in Queanbeyan, with Peter grabbing her coat tails.
When in Yass, where do you like to dine out?
In Yass or in any town i like to eat at different places so i can enjoy the different flavours and creations of different Chefs. I do enjoy a good Thai though.
When in Yass, where would you grab a coffee?
I don't drink coffee however i do enjoy a good brewed Chai with Almond milk.
There is a cafe near the rail museum i enjoy stopping at.
When in Yass, where would you go to relax?
I enjoy relaxing in Yass near the river or simply by walking through the lovely town centre.

What is the first thing you will do after the election?
continue raising awareness in regards to CO2 emissions and climate change.

What is your favourite meal to eat?
The bourgeoisie, followed by veg tacos.

What is your favourite movie or stage show?
I just watched the doco 'Chasing asylum' and it's the first thing that popped to my head. It was moving and watching it with a crowd of friends in Merimbula reminded me of how important our struggle is to create a more humane solution for asylum seekers.
What is your favourite song to listen to?
Paul Kelly - Everything's Turning to White.
What is your favourite song to sing?
I've been learning all the words to 'Solidarity', the song of the union movement and symbolic of standing together in unity.
What is your favourite holiday destination (actual or aspirational)?
My mum's little caravan, with family on the South Coast.
What is your favourite historical figure (and why)?
Emma Goldman, a feminist and social activist. Showed that economic inequality is the biggest divide in society and that we should push to change the structure of our system to put the power in the hands of people, not blinding accept authority.
What are your hobbies outside work?
Bushwalking, going to the beach, soccer, reading.
What has been your funniest moment on the campaign trail this year?
Seeing Peter Hendy at one singular event during the campaign.
When in Yass, where do you like to dine out?
I usually stay with one of our Greens supporters who will cook an excellent meal, but otherwise the Royal.

If it's early, the closest place possible haha. But otherwise Thyme to Taste for sure.

On the beautiful riverside with a juice from Jucy Lucy.
Will you be attending an "after party" following the election? If so, where is it being held?
Yes! It'll be with all our hardworking volunteers in the Bega Valley, in my home town. I'm travelling around Eden-Monaro again later to meet volunteers again afterwards and thank them.

Sit down with mates and have a nice cold beer (or two).
