The Roos secured a 10th-straight win to retain outright top spot on the Canberra Raiders Cup table with a 38-20 win at bottom side Goulburn on Sunday.
The match was littered with a number of spiteful incidents after half-time as tempers frayed, with Goulburn's former Canberra Raider Joe Picker and a Roos player sin-binned for punching early in the second half.
Tensions boiled over again just after the full-time siren in the Roos' seven-tries-to-four victory.
Beaten grand finalists in golden point the past two years, Goulburn has won only one game all year and has lost three of its last four games by four points or less.
The hosts threatened an upset when tries to Matt Worboys and Mick Picker gave them an early 10-4 lead.
But the Roos dominated the middle third of the match, piling on three tries in five minutes just before the break to take a 20-10 half-time advantage.
Three more tries after the break put the result beyond doubt for the visitors, before the Bulldogs scored two late consolation tries.
Goulburn president Joe Stephens didn't expect the match to come under too much scrutiny from the match review committee.
"There was just a fair bit of niggle in the play the ball, a few times there was a good four or five 'blues' going on in the second half and it made for a fiery contest," he said.
"There was a few punches thrown, I think there was a few landed, but there'll be nothing to come out of it, I don't think."
