The round game was called off due to the torrid weather but the girls still took to the field at 12pm to play a catch-up game with Goulburn, which was washed out a few weeks ago.
Club secretary Lisa Wylie said the Girlpies put in a mighty effort against the competition leaders for a final score of 22-8.
Try scorers were Tasmin Paxton and Sophie Broadhead. Players player honours went to Trisha Moore.
“Her defence was outstanding on the day and she was strongly supported by the rest of the team.”
The Girlpies joined female supporters of the Magpies in the Walker Park Clubhouse after the game for a ladies day luncheon and to cheer on the first grade side.
“A delicious spread was organised by Kate Wylie and Sartu Beck for all the Girlpies and female supporters of the club,” Lisa said.
The Girlpies will face Woden at Queanbeyan on Saturday with kick off at 11am.
