In 2015, Darmody claimed the Capital Football Award for the Golden Boot State League five division with 21 goals in 14 games.
This year, he has claimed 24 goals from 18 matches.
Despite not getting past the first round of the finals, two more weeks will determine whether any other player in the Canberra league can topple his number. Yet, as things stand Darmody is 10 goals ahead of the pack.
“It’s a team effort really,” Darmody explained.
“I get given the opportunities and just take advantage of that.
“I’m humbled to receive the award, particularly two years in a row. It is because of my team, John the coach, my brother Mitchell, whose criticism has kept me grounded, and my mum’s support.”
Darmody hopes to carry on this tradition into the future and plans on striving for a more successful year for the team as a whole.
