Bush and Clark were selected for MackKillop after stellar performances for The Catholic Archdicoese of Canberra and Goulburn team earlier in the year.
At the championship, MacKillop topped its pool by winning all games:
- 15–0 against Sydney South West
- 49–0 against Riverina
- 42–5 against South Coast
In the quarter final, MacKillop played Polding, winning 15–5 and obtained a semi-final spot against a hot Hunter team.
Bush and Clark played crucial roles in defeating Hunter 21–7.
Heading into the grand final, both Yass players were nervous but excited since a MacKillop team has won it only once.
They were up against Sydney South West Boys, which scored first, courtesy of their large forwards crashing over the line.
MacKillop, however, lifted and ran away with the game winning the NSW PSSA Championships 33–14.
Bush and Clark were rewarded with NSW PSSA gold medals and the winner’s shield, showing they are among the best 11-year-old and 12-year-old players in the state.
