The Earth Awards celebrate project innovation and excellence in the civil construction industry. Major projects are recognised via a series of state and territory finals which culminate in a national awards ceremony.
The RLP was successful in making the NSW finals in Category 1 – projects valued up to $1 million – having been assessed on its performance in construction, environmental, social and project management.
The RLP submission was a joint venture between South East Local Land Services, WaterNSW, Divall's Bulk Haulage and Earthmoving, and landholders Dulcie and Robert Hughes.
It has addressed several areas of active gully erosion, reduced downstream sediment movement and contributed to improved water quality within the Wollondilly and ultimately the Sydney drinking water catchment.
