The final score:
- ANU Griffins: 10.7.67
- Yass Roos: 6.10.46
The loss means it is the Roos’ third grand-final defeat since their victory in 2008.
ANU kicked the first three goals as the Roos struggled to win the contested ball.
The Roos started to get into stride mid-quarter but still trailed 30–9 at the first break.
Despite ANU scoring the first goal in quarter two, the Roos rallied to outscore them to lead 37–34 at halftime.
The third quarter was a tough struggle.
Late behinds each showed that both teams were desperate and well aware of the prize.
A scuffle between players after a marking contest led to a red card to Roos’ Ben McCallum.
Two late goals to ANU gave them a small buffer of 48–38 at the final break.
The Roos conceded a free kick to ANU in front of goal early in the last quarter that cost another goal.
Yass responded quickly through Raphael Willersdorf.
The Griffins were relentless and held tight to their lead.
Another goal to ANU with less than five minutes remaining sealed the match as the gap was just too wide for the Roos to prevail.
