The event showcased the Community Garden to locals and invited them to be part of its future.
Pru Goward, Member for Goulburn, and guest speaker Walter Steensby from Canberra Organic Growers encouraged attendees to think about the value of community gardens.
Kids were involved in sustainability activities, such as potting up a flower or vegetable seed to grow.
The adults participated in a plant-trading table.
Local musician Derryth Nash, Maisie’s Choir and the Mt Carmel School Band and Choir provided entertainment.
Conversations about making the open day an annual event has begun.
