Sykes, who plays fullback, received the first-grade best and fairest and most outstanding club player of 2016.
He received the Phil Morrisey Trophy for the latter award.

“It’s nice to get personal recognition but at the end of the day I’m just happy we got the job done on grand final day,” Sykes said.
“It was a great effort from our squad all season.”
Sykes moved to Orange in August 2015 after several seasons in the Binalong Brahmans rugby league club.
Robyn Sykes, AJ’s mother and former editor of the Yass Tribune, said the family was proud of his efforts.
“I think his first love is still league, and when he got to Orange, all his mates played union. But he’s fairly sporty so made the change easily,” Robyn said.
“He started playing soccer as a boy but he’s since played all four codes. He had a season of AFL in Victoria, played league and a bit of union in high school,” she said.
