The Yass District Cricket Association (YDCA) Yabbies steamrolled Tumburumba by nine wickets in round two of the McDonalds Country Plate at Victoria Park on Sunday, October 23.

Yass won the toss and elected to field, bowling out Tumburumba in the 32nd over for only 75 runs at a run rate of 2.34.
Tumburumba’s most resistant partnership lasted only 26 runs between middle-order batsmen F Cross and M Byutt, who topped the run tally with 17.
L O’Mara was Yass’ most damaging bowler with 4/15 followed by M Lawerence with 2/20.
The Yabbies were never in trouble as they lost only one wicket to reach the 76 runs needed in fewer than 20 overs.
Daniel Poidevin backed up his top individual score last week with 29 (not out).
While it was round two of the competition hosted by Country Cricket NSW, it was YDCA’s first representative match.
Captain David Field said the dominant win was a good start to the representative season.
“It went quicker than expected. And the weather was great,” he said.
The match finished in less than four hours.
Rain impacts YDCA Triggs Shield and Sweeney Cup
In the YDCA Triggs Shield competition, the Yass Golf Club Snipers continued their good form defeating the Aussie Hotel Pirates by a comfortable 94 runs at O’Connor Park on Saturday, October 22.
The Snipers finished at 9/153 with J Payton topping the batting charts with 53 runs.
The Pirates showed some resistance, facing 22 overs for its 59 runs.
However, it was futile as C Irwin did most of the damage with 4/4 and five maidens from his eight overs.
It was the only match played with the following declared washouts:
- Yass Golf Club Colts versus Binalong, Bowning
- Bookham versus Dalton, Bookham Oval
- Yass Golf Club Colts versus Binalong, Bowning Oval
- Murrumbateman versus Aussie Hotel Pirates, Murrumbateman Oval
- Yass Golf Club Piranhas drew Bowning Buffaloes
Junior cricket a washout
Junior cricket, including Milo In2Cricket and T20 Blast were also cancelled due to grounds being deemed unplayable from wet weather.
