In honour of one of the association’s netball families, spectators and players donated to the not-for-profit organisation. The fundraiser round began on Tuesday, October 25 during the open’s division.
YNA President Gennene Kemp said it was an idea to celebrate and honour a long-term member of the association who died recently.
“The bright and bubbly round is a first time for us,” Ms Kemp said.
“It’s to honour her and the family’s bright and bubbly nature.
“The family that this is dedicated to has been involved in netball since forever, so it’s very much a celebration of her and her family and a way to honour them.”
Ms Kemp said there was a large turnout on Tuesday night.
“On court playing was the little girl whose mother passed away, so the support was great,” she said.
The idea by the committee to host the bright and bubbly event was a first for YNA.
The total raised on Tuesday was $137.50.
Ms Kemp said the fundraiser round continued on Thursday, October 27 during the divisions night.
