After months of work and planning the inaugural Festival of Flavour will open its gates at the Murrumbateman Recreational Grounds this weekend.

The inaugural event will highlight and showcase the wide variety and diversity of the food, wines, beer and produce that is available within the Yass Valley and Canberra regions.
“There is such a wide variety of flavours available within the region. The festival is the perfect opportunity for visitors to sample them all in one place,” Event Manager, Elizabeth Newham Nichols said.
The event, beginning at 10am both days, will host 50 exhibitorsas well as an array of food and wine to taste, sample and purchase. OzHarvest will have cooking demonstrations, wine and cider talks, and live music.
Ms Nichols said the “must do event” will be the Saturday night VIP Long Table Banquet where visitors will enjoy an evening of local food and wines, complete with entertainment from the Baker Bays band.
“We are excited to be part of this great event initiative and have already booked our stand”, Economic Development and Tourism Manager Sean Haylan said.
“It will be a highlight on our event calendar and we are very proud that our region was chosen as the venue.”
