Carols organisers, Robyn Darmody and Karen Davis say it was fortunate that the market committee also wanted to try a twilight event.
“We’re pretty happy with the turnout, it’s great,” Ms Davis said.
As well as the carols, performed by Maisie’s Choir, and stalls, pre-entertainment gave the audience another flavour.
Local band The Fire Katz and musician Maddy McGrath played folk and rock tunes before performances by the Richard Johnston and Anglican School children's group.
Yass Valley councillor and member of the Village Market committee, Mike Reid, said the crowds attendance proved that it was the right decision to combine both events.
“There’s about 20 stallholders tonight and the turnout is good,” he said.
