The Yass Bulls 16 Boys gained valuable playing experience after competing at the NSW Touch Football Junior State cup at Port Macquarie on Friday–Sunday, February 17–19.

While they finished seventh in their division with six losses and one bye, the 14-player team walked away with some valuable playing experience. The Yass Touch Football Association said it was proud of the juniors’ achievements.
“The boys have shown great commitment and effort in their training, with vast improvements already seen. This tournament will be a valuable experience for the boys and their development as touch football players,” it said in a statement.

The association also paid tribute to various coaches who have helped the junior players make the state cup.
“The boys have been very fortunate in having the expertise of their coaches, Sophie Broadhead, Vaughan Winnell and Jai Smith.”

The Yass Bulls 16 team consisted of Michael Williams, Thomas Carey, Ryan Prins, Jack Hall, Kai Douvan, Joel Blyss, Josh McIver, Patrick McPhillips, James Besgrove, Josh Sykes, Ayden Pothan, Kaiden Bell, Jarrad Hulme and Jerome McGrath.
The 2017 16 Boys Champions title went to West Magpies who defeated the Manly Sea Eagles 8-7. Manly, however, were club champions, finishing with 139 points.
