Club president Greg Smith said the season looks promising for all four grades. He also praised the recruitment process done by the head coaches.
“I’ve been up to most trainings and the recruitment program’s been great for the new players. They’ve been here only a few months and fitting in with the Yass locals. It’s a pleasure to have them.
He said he looked forward to the women’s sides, which includes the league tag team. As well, for the first time in its history, the club will have an open women’s rugby league side.
“I want to thank Benny [Benjamin Wylie] for putting his hand up to coach the girls,” he said. The club’s first two matches will be trials at Walker Park:
- March 11: Magpies vs Wagga Brothers
- March 18: Magpies vs Nowra Jets
