The 2017 annual Yass Carnival on Saturday and Sunday, March 18–19 was a huge success. A total of 34 senior teams, plus juniors and subbies teams competed. Teams came from as far away as Sydney, Jugiong and even one team from the Northern Territory.

The Yass Club came away defeating Lake George for the win in the A mixed (mixed teams comprise three women and three men) and runners up in the B mixed. However, they were beaten by Wollondilly in D open and A grade junior competitions.
A strong Sydney men’s side defeated Jugiong in the open final to win the Cavan Cup.
Individual prizes went to Yass club members:
- Aimee Keogh: Encouragement Female Award
- Kaaren Darmody: Best Female Player
- Tara Moaut, Shayne Moore and Kaaren Darmody: Best Women’s Section
Meanwhile, Shayne Mooreand her horse Flick Gunna Rock won the Champion Australian Stock Horse prize.
The Yass carnival also hosted a St Patrick's Day theme on Saturday night, which brought a bit of colour to the event. The fields held up pretty well, despite a bit of dust by Sunday afternoon.
The next polocrosse will be the Lake George Carnival on Saturday and Sunday, March 25–26 at the Bungendore Showground Venue.
