There will be a vast array of pre-loved children’s clothes, toys, books, baby accessories and furniture on offer at bargain prices with all proceeds going to YECCA, a non-for-profit community preschool that has been proudly providing Yass Valley families with quality care since the 1950s.
The market is the major fundraiser for YECCA and the inaugural event raised more than $5000 for the centre last year. This Saturday it promises to be bigger and better. In addition to the pre-loved market, more than 20 new stalls featuring beautiful handcrafted gifts or homewares will be dotted throughout the picturesque park.
New to the market this year is free entertainment, which will include dynamic demonstrations from Dazzle Dance, Streetbeat and Yass Gymnastics; musical acts by Jess Keating, Good Vibes choir and the Berinba and Mt Carmel school choirs; as well as tennis and karate demonstrations.
YECCA board member and market organiser Julia Nicholls said there will be something for everyone.
“There will be a jumping castle, face painting, home baked cakes and slices, waffles, real French crepes and patisseries, BBQ, Greek food, freshly squeezed juice, popcorn and more.”
“We have been blown away with the generosity of YECCA families and the wider community, who have donated toys, clothes, prams, bikes, books and lots more for YECCA to sell at the market. There are some great bargains to be found.”
Tickets to the YECCA Easter raffle will be on sale with some wonderful prizes on offer including a two-night South Coast getaway to Cupitt’s Winery in Ulladulla; family passes to Questacon, Dinosaur Museum and Canberra Theatre Centre; dining vouchers to Clementine, Four Winds Vineyard, Thyme to Taste, Sir George Jugiong and Robyn Rowe chocolates; massage vouchers and a posturepedic pillow from the Yass Wellness Centre; a tennis racket donated by tennis coach Scott Eulenstein; and many more generous donations from local businesses, families and individuals.
Teachers from YECCA will also be conducting tours of the centre on Saturday for interested families.
