Police say the man, aged 82, stopped to help the woman push her stalled car off the road in Cecil Hills late on Wednesday morning, when he fell to the ground and was run over by a passing vehicle.
Police believe the man then suffered a cardiac arrest.
Police and the ambulance service were called to the scene at around 11.20am, but were unable to save the man, who died at the scene.
A report will be prepared for the coroner.
