Yass Rams hosted their first home game (round three) of the rugby union season against the Crookwell Doggies on Saturday, April 8.

The game started off in Crookwell’s favour with the doggies scoring two unconverted tries and kicking three penalty goals in the first half.

Yass were able to secure one try from winger Thomas Dawes just before the halftime siren; however, the Doggies led at halftime with a commanding 19-5 scoreline.

Yass were very strong in their attack in the second half with Harry Bush racing through to secure their second try. Mark Dowling kicked the conversion closing the gap to 19-12.

Unfortunately, Crookwell responded with another two converted tries to increase the margin to 33-12.

With determination still in their eyes, Yass again went to the wing with Brodie Anderson scoring the third try and converting. Crookwell, however, snuck through one more try to secure the win 38-19.

Yass Rams players’ player was Adam Bell. The Rams had the Easter long weekend off, as well as the April 22-23 weekend. This will allow the club to regather for their next game on April 29 against Braidwood at Victoria Park. This game will also include the Rams hosting their annual Ladies/Sponsors Day.
