What does this mean for Yass Library users? Lots!
As a start we need to return all Crookwell, Gunning and Goulburn items to their respective branches by Friday, June 9. If you have any items from any of these branches you will need to return them to us by this date so that we can get them back to their home branch. Any of our items that are checked out to Crookwell, Gunning and Goulburn borrowers will also have to be returned to us by Friday, June 9.
To help with getting our items returned, and to stop people reserving our items, we are having to remove all Yass items from the online catalogue and remove Yass, Yass Mobile and Murrumbateman as collection points for reserves. This will take place on Friday April, 28. We appreciate that this will be a nuisance for Yass borrowers, however, we have explored all options and this was the best solution.
Library staff will still have access to the catalogue and will be able to make reserves, check for items on our shelf on your behalf – ONLY for Yass, Murrumbateman, mobile items. If you want to check whether Yass, Murrumbateman or the mobile library has an item that you want then you are more than welcome to call us on 6226 1305 or come into the library and have staff check the catalogue for you.
Have an item on reserve? Any existing reserves for Yass members on Gunning, Crookwell and Goulburn items are currently being reviewed by Yass Library staff and items are being considered for purchase. For many of the reserves, Yass Library already has a copy and the only step needed to be taken is that your reserve will be removed from the other branch’s copy and allocated to Yass’ copy only. For many people this actually means that they will be receiving the item quicker!
We are dedicated to ensuring that any books or other items missing from our independent collections are purchased and made available to you.
