This Saturday will mark Chris Rawlinson’s 200th game for the Yass Magpies, and it might be a tricky one. “It’ll be a difficult game, but yeah we can win,” says Mr Rawlinson. There’s no celebration planned after the game against the Queanbeyan Roos, victory however could change that. “If we get a win we might celebrate,” says Mr Rawlinson.

A League player since the age of 9, Mr Rawlinson is young to have racked up 200 games. Playing two games a day most weeks, one for Reserve Grade and one for First Grade, has seen him rack up games at double speed.
He began his League journey playing with his next door neighbour, then moved into the Magpies’ junior team. He’s proud of a short spell coaching Binalong which saw the team win three premierships in three years, as well as playing in the Yass victory in the 2006 Grand Final.
Rugby isn’t Mr Rawlinson’s sole passion though, he’ll plays whatever he can get his hands on including both cricket and touch footy. In his younger days he played for the Under 18s Australian Touch Football team, eventually playing for Australia in the World Cup.
He loves the game, but Mr Rawlinson doesn’t think he’ll make another 200. “It’s getting a bit harder now,” he says, and is thinking of trying something new next year.
