Instead the Bond star faced a long walk back to her hotel along La Croisette because when the Cannes festival is in town, so is a lack of taxis - even for the highest A-listers.

And for Harris there was only one solution: hitching her Gucci dress up (which she paired with an off-duty embroidered denim jacket), kicking off her millennial pink heels and hiking back in to her hotel barefoot from the Palais des Festivals.
The star took to Instagram to post the image of her walking the streets, "And that's a wrap on #cannes2017 for me! Dress in hand, high heels off and walking the croisette back to my hotel!! Got to keep it real always!! Night, night peeps!!!"
Nicole Kidman and Elle Fanning might take out the award for most unlikely best friends of 2017, with the pair reuniting on the red carpet in showstopping style for their new science fiction/romantic comedy film, How to Talk to Girls at Parties.
Clearly they shared style notes with both stepping out as visions in silver glitter. Kidman wore a sequined midi gown with a nude tulle trim, while her 19-year-old co-star adorned a mint green deep-v halter with silver appliques and a tulle floral trail. But it was their utter admiration for each other that really stole the carpet, with the stars holding hands, hugging and sharing Oscar-worthy facial expressions of excitement.
It's a big year at Cannes for Kidman, with the Academy Award winner part of four projects showing at the prestigious film festival: Sofia Coppola's The Beguiled and Yorgos Lanthimos' The Killing of a Sacred Deer, which are in both in competition, How to Talk to Girls at Parties, and the Sundance TV drama, Top of the Lake.
Meanwhile Naomi Campbell held her 12th annual Fashion for Relief Fundraiser with supermodels, actors, fashion icons and even a Queen gathered on the French Riviera to benefit Save the Children and its Syria Crisis Appeal.
Campbell's supermodel friends and todays it girls, including Kate Moss, Heidi Klum, Sara Sampaio, Jourdan Dunn, Kendall Jenner and Bella Hadid, walked in the glamorous show.
Glitz and glamour were the overriding fashion trends of the evening with embellishments, crystals, sequins and daring sheer cutouts shining on the runway and red carpet. Perhaps the crown of making casual look ultra-chic goes to Kendall Jenner who matched daisy-dukes and black kitten heels with a black asymmetric top from the Alexandre Vauthier collection, featuring a puffy sleeve and statement train.
Off the runway there was also plenty of support for the charity with Queen Rania, Princess Beatrice (fresh from Pippa Middleton's wedding), Leonardo Di Caprio, Uma Thurman, Lottie Moss, Donnatella Versace, Lewis Hamilton among other celebrities in attendance.
