Yass Valley Council says training lights at Binalong Recreation Ground and O’Connor Park have been officially turned on. The project began when TransGrid donated redundant power poles several years ago.

The council thanked all involved in this community project, particularly:
- Terry Lemon (Yass Roos) and Ben Spencer (Binalong Brahmans) who donated their time and machinery to complete the excavation work.
- TransGrid donated their time and machinery to relocate the poles from council’s depot to each of the sporting facilities.
- Jeremy Pateman was engaged as a contractor to install and connect new LED lights.
