They were the only Fridays when nobody died on NSW roads.
Saturdays stand out as the bloodiest: Someone died on every Saturday in 2016.
The CEO and founder of the Australian Road Safety Foundation Russell White called on the public to take more responsibility for their own actions and those of others, to make more days fatality free.
"We need to create a culture where we call each other out on bad behaviour behind the wheel, instead of shuffling responsibility on to others," he said.
About 44 per cent of passengers were reluctant to ask speeding friends to slow down, research by the foundation found.
A similar amount were reluctant to ask someone driving a vehicle to stop risky and distracting behaviour - such as texting - that could put lives at risk.
To mark each person who died on the roads, 384 mailboxes, each bearing the gender and age of a victim, were erected on the Sydney Harbour foreshore at McMahon's Point.
Each represents a family home that is bereft, and mail that continues to arrive addressed to the deceased.
Fatality Free Friday is the nation's largest community-based road safety initiative.
Slightly safer days for driving in 2016 included Sundays and Mondays - both with three days when nobody died - and Tuesdays and Wednesdays, each with four days when nobody died.
