The 2017 initiative, across the nation, by Variety (The Children’s Charity) included 32 cars that raised $170,00 of which Mr Martin and Mr Mann raised $7,000. The adventure helped Variety fund equipment and services every month in NSW to kids in need.
“We had a fantastic time. Together with the Variety Club, we thank our supporters for their donations,” Mr Martin said.
The adventure – traversing Port Melbourne before Smithton, Strahan, Strathgordon, Hobart, Launceston and Devonport – was a six-day, turn-key adventure taking four-wheel drive vehicles off the bitumen and onto bush traks, sand dunes, fire trails and country dirt roads.
After disembarking in Melbourne on April 9, the pair drove back to Yass.
“We covered a total of 3,360km on this amazing trip,” Mr Martin said.
